Crazy Over Color!

I go crazy over spring color!
One of the most flexible ways to jump start color is to plant bulbs.

I get creams from early blooming daffodils, then vivid greens, oranges, salmons and apricots in late spring. This is also the time of year that I love my Prairie Fire crabapples! I should have taken their photo yesterday before the rain ruined the reddish-pink blossoms.

Growing Raspberries in a Whisky Barrel

I thought I'd try this method of container gardening this year since we have a small yard and I don't want the raspberries to grow under the fenceline. Has any one done this before? I hear good drainage and Mel's soil mix from Square Foot Gardening are the key. To be continued...

2010 - Pull out the pen!
