Growing Raspberries in a Whisky Barrel

I thought I'd try this method of container gardening this year since we have a small yard and I don't want the raspberries to grow under the fenceline. Has any one done this before? I hear good drainage and Mel's soil mix from Square Foot Gardening are the key. To be continued...
